Hallam Communications - web marketing training and consultancy

Susan Hallam Publications

Susan has been working in the UK information industry since 1985, and is a regular speaker at industry conferences and events.

See her full list of publications which includes conference papers and scholarly articles, presentations, and course materials.

In Spring 1993, Susan was a contributor to the first edition of The Internet Business Journal together with Dr Vinton Cerf, Christopher Locke, as well as other early Internet pioneers. This first edition was published a year before the advent of the World Wide Web.

Despite its ephemeral nature, the Internet does keep lingering traces of our conversations on the Internet. Today, sending email attachments is something we all take for granted, but in 1993 it was more complicated. See Susan's battle with transferring WordPerfect files across the Internet.

The Internet also reminds us that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Susan's Powerpoint presentation about disruptive technologies from 2001 touches on many similar themes to her current work. These slides are hosted in the Czech Republic.

Google Books finds her contribution to Ethics, Information and Technology: Readings where she wrote about "Misconduct on the Information Highway: Abuse and Misuse of the Internet."

Susan has presented to a smorgasbord of nationalities, and as a result one can never be too sure what they write about her presentations, whether in Norwegian or Italian or the hilarious Moron translation of her website.
